Privacy notice
How the National Federation of SpazaShop Union (NAFESU) handles personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Article 3.8 of the NAFESU Constitution requires the federation to protect personal information in line with the law.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address and message. Your telephone number and province are optional. If you leave them out, we reply by email.
When you apply for membership or affiliation, we collect the details on the application form, including your ID or passport number. We need these to confirm who you are and to process your application. We cannot process an incomplete application.
Why we collect it
We use your information to reply to you, to process and administer your membership, and to run NAFESU programmes. We do not sell your information or share it for marketing.
Who sees it
The NAFESU office bearers and staff who handle your enquiry or application, and the structure in your province that approves it. Our website and email are hosted by our service provider.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as we need them to reply. Membership records are kept for as long as you are a member and as long as the law requires afterwards.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Send your request to our Information Officer at info@nafesu.org.za.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator at www.inforegulator.org.za.
